=Greetings from Osaka=
Mr. Hideki Yoshida
Chief Director of Osaka Shorinji Kempo Federation
Chairman of Executive Committee of 2013 Shorinji Kempo World Taikai in Osaka, Japan
Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Hideki Yoshida, the chief director of the Osaka Shorinji Kempo Federation. First of all I'd like to show my
thanks on behalf of the Japanese people for your support in the wake of the disaster in March 2011. The donations, volunteer work and support received
from around the world will never be forgotten. The progress is slow, many people are still in need, but we will recover.
Well as many of you know, the biggest event of WSKO is going to be held in Osaka on the 24th and 25th of August 2013. Yes, I'm referring to the
"Shorinji Kempo World Taikai. The last event was supposed to be held in Indonesia in 2009, however unfortunately at the last minute it was canceled
due to a terrorist incident. So after an 8 year absence, it's going to be held in its birth place, Japan.
The theme of the Taikai has been set to be "As one family worldwide we resolve to contribute to world peace and happiness."
For many of you it will be your first visit to Japan.
Osaka is the second largest city, and the people here are known for their
friendliness and hospitality. The city itself has a vibrant nightlife,
reputation for good food, and there are plenty of things to do and see. If it
is your first time here, don't worry, I am sure you won't leave disappointed.
Finally, on behalf of the Osaka Shorinji Kempo Federation, I'd like to thank
you for your continued support.
Thanks for reading. We are looking forward to seeing you then.
