Bromma is a suburb of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Yuji Hirase, a student of Morikawa Sensei, Rakuto Doin, established Bromma Shibu in 1980. The following year Bromma Shibu received a new Shibu-cho, Roy Colegate Sensei. The late Roy Colegate Sensei was Shibu-cho for almost a decade, and he is considered Sensei for many senior Shorinji Kempo practitioners in Sweden today. In 1989 he handed the duties of Shibu-cho over to Jan Rydeblad Sensei who led the Shibu for 12 years. In 2001 Leif Kekonius succeeded him as the fourth and current Shibu-cho for Bromma Shibu.

Bromma has approximately 30 registered members in a mixed age group ranging from 16 to 55, of which 8 are Yudansha.

Robert Persson explaining Juho Waza
Practice is conducted three times a week in two hour sessions. One Saturday a month there is an extra training opportunity.

Bromma Shibu is taking an active part in the work of the Swedish Federation for the development of Shorinji Kempo in Sweden.

In the spring of 2002 Bromma Shibu hosted an international Gasshuku with Mizuno Sensei as guest WSKO instructor. Working together in the arrangement of this international Gasshuku brought the Shibu closer together, and everybody contributed in making the arrangement successful.
