Practice at the Moscow Branch of WSKO

Shorinji Kempo in Russia started some 12 years ago. Since that time many people became members of that unique system of body and spiritual development. Day by day the number of new people who wish to study and practice Shorinji Kempo in Russia increases. The Official representative of WSKO in Russia is the Moscow Branch Master, Alexei Rokitski.

The years 2001-2003 played a very important role for our branch, by way of expanding Shorinji Kempo. After the seminar hosted in Moscow in 2001, our branch got a new impulse of enthusiasm, initiated by the masters from Hombu.

The year 2002 and the beginning of 2003 passed under the slogan "Shorinji Kempo - for everyone". During that period, we held a few seminars, created groups of enthusiasts in different cities in Russia ( Sankt-Petersburg, Nijni Novgorod, Vladivostok, Sochi, Kostomuksha ), took part in a Budo - festival promoted by Russian Television. We were invited to Russian Championship of traditional Wushu, where Embu-Kai was demonstrated, by members of our branch.

The interest of people who want to study Shorinji Kempo has been stimulated by many articles in popular Russian magazines and newspapers among which are "Japan today", "New Time", "Dojo" and "Wushu".

Today, the Moscow branch continues its work and is looking forward to 2004. We are organizing and hosting a new seminar of Japanese Masters planned by Hombu in Moscow.

The study of Shorinji Kempo philosophy, frequent practice and regular trips of Moscow branch members to "Zenrin Gakuen" (Academy of Shorinji Kempo in Hombu) for practice - are the components of success and durability of Shorinji Kempo in Russia.
