11th Italian National Gasshuku report

Training session

During the days of May the 16, 17, and 18, 2003, the 11th Italian National Shorinji Kempo Gasshuku was held in Casale Monferrato, a city in the Alessandria province in the north of the country, not far from Turin. The meeting was held for 3 days: on Friday the 16th of May 2003, there was the initial reception of all participants, on Saturday the 17th there was the technical seminar organized for 6 hours long from the morning to the afternoon, alternating technical session with philosophy lectures, on Sunday the 18th of May in the morning there was the National Embukai while in the afternoon there was the training session until the closing event. In the evening all participants enjoyed the final party celebration.

As traditionally happen from many years, the Shorinji Kempo Italian Federation (FISK) cooperates in the social field during its events with several Institutions developing assistance activities towards less lucky persons, this year during the morning of Sunday 18 of May, all kenshi were protagonists of nice initiative (30 tsuki & 30 keri), to collect funds to help ANFASS, an Italian association who help persons with handicaps.

Gakka teachings moment

The whole Gasshuku was followed by about 250 kenshi, coming from all over the Branches of the country, with the presence of Sensei Aosaka Hiroshi 8 dan WSKO instructor and leader of Shorinji Kempo European Office and Technical Director of French Federation, who made such event an official one in the WSKO manifestations, assisted by Sensei Didie Con Branch Master of Shorinji Kempo French Federation.

The event has received a good success and enforced the consolidation of human and inter-personnel relationship among Teachers and students all over the country.

Official meeting with the City Administration Authorities

Through this appointment it was possible to verify how in Italy Shorinji Kempo is constantly growing and evolving; all Branch Masters make it possible through a close cooperation and a continuous work on the territory in the spirit of Our Discipline.

The leaving step was done giving the next appointment for everybody to the next National Gasshuku that will be held in Norcia, in the middle of Italy not far from Rome.

A lot of kenshi wish to meet each other again in the European meeting in Paris on October 2003, where the Shorinji Kempo Italian Federation (FISK) will join to celebrate the 30th celebration of Shorinji Kempo in France.
