SOLIDARITY IN MOVEMENT
In a joint action of Oriental, Rato and Sintra Branch's a delivery of food, clothes and toys was made last December 23, to the "Obra da Imaculada Conceicao" (Works of Immaculate Conception) in Dona Maria village, in the location of Canecas (near Lisbon city).
This charity institution is run by nuns and welcomes orphan girls and boys victims of mistreatment.
The delivery of the material was made by Fausto Carrico Sensei, from Oriental Branch, and Jose Araujo Sensei from Sintra branch, as well as some kenshi from Sintra Branch.
Because it was a normal working day it was not possible the presence of representatives from Rato Branch.
We believe that this small action will provide it a Merry Christmas to these girls and boys, whose only family that most of them know are the "sisters" of this religious congregation.
Alongside was also held a joint donation of blood to IPS (Portuguese Institute of Blood) from the three referred branches.
More actions of solidarity are planned for the months of April and May during the celebration of the Kaiso Month, with the donation of another collection of toys and school supplies and distribution of food to the homeless in Lisbon.
This last action will take place across the city and for the period of a few weeks.
