Saynatsalo training camp 13th December 2008
Gassho!
Saynatsalo Branch organized a one day training camp for the Finnish kenshi. Training was directed by Sensei Juha Utriainen, 5th dan, president of the Finnish Shorinji Kempo Federation. He was helped by some of the Finnish Branch Masters and Assistant Branch Masters.
There were about 40 Finnish kenshi present. We had also as guests three British kenshi from Southampton led by Sensei Adrian Starr.
Since this was only a one day camp the intensity of the training was kept a high level to ensure tired but happy kenshi.
Morning was spent on embu training with emphasis on building up and practising some more complicated sequences and ideas.
In the afternoon training was more technical with many different list techniques, with emphasis on movement and efficiency. Special emphasis was put on understanding juho techniques and pain.
The day was hard and enjoyable.
In the evening some of the kenshi attended a sauna + grill party arranged by Jyvaskyla Branch. Discussions continued late into the night.
