SHORINJI KEMPO DEMO AT CENTRAL PARK AVENUE 1 UTAMA KUALA LUMPUR

March 22nd, 2009. Central Park Avenue 1 Utama becomes hobs of activities in conjunction to celebrate "One Voice" a program to unite and promote sports awareness among youth members in Malaysia. The campaign was grace by the Minister of Youth and Sport YB Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaacob. The campaign was attended by more than 5,000 youths throughout Malaysia. Programs starts as early as 10 am with fashion show, entertainment by local artist, paintball, cultural dance contest, ball games, wall climbing, arts and exhibition of different martial art such as silat (Malaysia traditional martial art), Taekwondo, Aikido, Wushu, Capoeira, Kavadi and Shorinji Kempo.

Shorinji Kempo Wilayah Persekutuan & Selangor branch was officially invited by the organizer and who is ever since very active in joining such event for youths program, the demonstration receives a massive applause from the crowd. Although, Shorinji Kempo in west Malaysia is not very well known, the said branch continue to grow over the years and receives recognition from the Malaysian government for promoting and supporting youth program. Recently, 3 kenshis just passed their 1st Dan test under the supervision of Sensei Yacob Gabril Samson, Branch Master of Wilayah Persekutuan & Selangor.

During the said demonstration Sensei Mitsutaka Matsubara, Ikuyo Matsubara (Japanese club Kuala Lumpur Branch) and their 3 kids' Kazunori, Yusuki and Manami come to join the fun and put a spectacular show. The Branch Master of Kuala Lumpur Mr. Kyohei Hosoe, is also present to lend support for the team even the youngest performer Danial Fitri 5 years old also enjoys under the blistering sun. Alena Bukhalo (Russian) the only foreigner in the group together with Roshayaty put up a good show for women showing important simple self defense.
