ONCE AGAIN SHOKEMA BRANCH TAKES PART IN THE AMAKO GALA

Once again Shokema Branch selflessly took part on the 16th martial art gala, celebrated last April,18th in the sport centre of Carranque, organized by the Malaga Kobudo Association.

This year, the gala was in aid of the childrens with leukaemia and lymphoma, giving the benefits to the Cesare Scariolo Foundation, which gives professional and social attention to those childrens and their families.

This foundation was created by Sergio Scariolo, who was the Manager of the "Unicaja de Malaga" basketball team for severeal years, and used the name Cesare Scariolo in memory of his father, who passed away few years ago.

Pilar Ponferrada (the family support specialist), with a dozen of children from this foundation enjoyed the exhibitions performed by several dojos from the province, and masters arrived from the whole Spain.

Once more, the gala was very successful, with a large number of people (more than a thousand), who enjoied the exhibitions of the differents martial arts available here in Malaga, and of some special guests from the rest of Spain.

On this occasion, Sensei Toni Gomez prepared an exhibition done by experienced kenshis in this kind of events; so it was a top quality exhibition, either in the technical aspect or physical one. There was partner's techniques, circles of kenshis doing goho techniques, and another juho circle.

Finally the kenshi Almudena Melendez made an awesome exhibition sitting in a chair, protecting herself against the attacks of a nidan kenshi (Salva Garcia).

Summarizing, we had a gala full of warmth and cooperation between the participants, which the shokema branch kenshis finished having a coffee and tipical spanish "churros" (a kind of strip of fried dough; a hot cake), in a kenshi bar (Fran Garcia). That's something which had became a tradition in our branch.
