Shorinji Kempo "Personality of the Year" 2009

Through the branches of Salvaterra de Magos and Foros de Salvaterra, received the award of "Personality of the Year 2009", in the area of "Associations".

This award was attributed to the Shorinji Kempo by the Newspaper "O Mirante" (The Observatory), the largest Portuguese regional newspaper - with a publication of 35.000 copies in paper and 400.000 readers on-line - which copper a third of the Portuguese territory.

Jointly with Shorinji Kempo, some other awards were attributed in the areas: "Politics - man"; "Culture - women "; "Culture - man "; "Sports - woman"; "Sports - man"; "Citizenship" and "Life." The award was attributed in the Theater of Ourem, in the 27 Mars, where countless personalities of the region were present, marking the importance of this event in the life of the local populations.

The recognition of the work of the kenshi of Salvaterra de Magos, was the culminate of a intense work of popularization the Shorinji Kempo inside and outside of the dojos, that implicate actions of defense of social justice, education, socialization and, naturally in the accomplishment of the "three benefits of Shorinji Kempo".

The countless projects that grow and the continue actives showed the name of Shorinji Kempo to the whole country, with special prominence for area of Ribatejo, where the recognition of our activities is now seen as an alive and present force, as an unquestionable reality.

Besides the direct activities of the branches of Salvaterra de Magos and Foros de Salvaterra, the Shorinji Kempo conquered the media, being referred in all the great national newspapers, all of the of public television networks and in the regional radios, with special prominence for to "Radio Marinhais"(Marinhais Broadcast), where the Shorinji Kempo has his own weekly space and where the Shorinji Kempo's local activities and the Kaiso's Philosophy are broadcasted.

We believe that this way we can contribute to the promotion of Shorinji Kempo, through an intimate connection with social reality in which we are framed.
