SHOKEMA BRANCH IN THE XVII AMAKO GALA
As every year since the AMAKO initiative began (Kobudo Association from Malaga) to raise funds for charities, Shorinji Kempo has returned to participate in the martial arts gala organized by it. The involvement of different disciplines is selfless and free. In this celebration of the XVII Gala on April 17th, the funds were intended for the CUDECA Foundation, and being faithful to the spirit of helping others that Shorinji Kempo promotes, SHOKEMA collaborated with its participation in this Martial Arts Gala.
CUDECA Foundation (cancer care) wich all benefits were intended, is dedicated to care, relieve, support and providing specialist palliative care to patients from Malaga who suffer advanced or terminal cancer and providing support and comfort to their families, so as its purpose is to make the process of dying in a life process. -Although we can not add days to life, we want to add life to days, through our "special way of caring ..."- they say.
Again, was proved a successful gala attended by a large number of people, achieving almost full capacity and where they could enjoy the various exhibits presented by the different disciplines invited.
Toni Gomez Sensei, head of the SHOKEMA branch, performed an exhibition comprised of kenshis from the exhibition team of SHOKEMA, in which people saw briefly the technical system of Shorinji Kempo (hard techniques, light techniques and the teamwork -embu-) with the peculiarity that this year, Toni Sensei chose to enter the defense against several opponents with different types of weapons (sword, stick, knife), which has never been done .
As expected, there was a nice atmosphere of cordiality and cooperation among participants who was developed without any incident, and we were happy to be able to help again with this kind of event, this time to the Foundation CUDECA .
