"Fighting Hunger and Poverty in the Search of a Better World"

The Salvaterra de Magos and Foros de Salvaterra Branches of Shorinji Kempo start's a new project of social solidarity, with the designation "Fighting Hunger and Poverty in the Search of a Better World".

This project aims to develop the kenshi, relatives and friends of Shorinji Kempo in the Salvaterra de Magos municipality, under the concept of "Compassion" proposed by Kaiso while celebrating at the same time the 100th anniversary of his birth.





























The project consists in a regular food donation, made by students and parents, when they made their weekly groceries shopping.

Both branches installed deposit boxes where the food is deposited by de Kenshi, to be delivered, every each week, to the "Salvaterra de Magos Social Store", which is a section of the Salvaterra de Magos Municipality, dedicated to supporting individuals and families in distressed or serious situations of severe poverty.

Last week the Shorinji Kempo Branches made their first deliver.

We already have the intention of some other Portuguese branches that want to make their one donation through this project.

This project has no limit in time and it will remain active for as long as the spirit of compassion remain alive in our hearts.
