PERKEMI (INDONESIAN SHORINJI KEMPO FEDERATION) PREPARING THE 1ST SHORINJI KEMPO MATCH IN THE SEAGAMES XXVI, NOVEMBER 2011.

In connection with the 26th SeaGames next November 2011 in which Shorinji Kempo was first competed in that Southeast Asian Countries Games, Indonesian Shorinji Kempo Federation (PERKEMI) had visited some Asean Countries such as Negara Brunei Darussalam, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Laos Peoplefs Democratic Republic, Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Kingdom of Cambodia to help them to prepare their Team. At least 8 countries will attended SeaGames XXVI ie Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Malaysia, Indonesia.

Visitation to Brunei Darussalam (February 6th - 10th, 2011)















In this visit Indonesian Kenshi had demonstrated the techniques of Shorinji Kempo as well as training with Brunei Kenshi.

















The demonstration team was warmly appreciated by His Majesty Seri Paduka Seri Maharaja Pangiran Bendahara Permaisuara Pangiran Muda Haji Sufri Bolkiah as the President of Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Committee that made him went straight down from the podium Indoor Stadium Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex after the demonstration and pleased to greet and meet individually with Indonesian Shorinji Kempo Team.

Present also was Mr. Pehin Dato Belia Paduka Awang Haji Hazair (Young and Sports Minister of Brunei Darussalam), Mrs. Datin Hajjah Adina (Young and Sports Assistant Minister) and some officials of the State Government of Brunei Darussalam.

His Majesty Seri Paduka Seri Maharaja Pangiran Bendahara Permaisuara Pangiran Sufri Bolkiah Haji Muda was pleased to invite the President of PB PERKEMI Kusumo AM Sensei and PERKEMI Chief of Instructor Indra Kartasasmita Sensei and PERKEMI Officials to have tea time at his palace.

The next day, Young and Sports Minister Pehin Dato Paduka Brunei Darussalam Haji Awang Hazair also pleased to receive the visit of Indonesian Shorinji Kempo Team in his office to discuss further developments of Brunei Darussalam Shorinji Kempo.

In 3 days the Indonesian Shorinji Kempo team has conducted some demonstrations at the National Indoor Stadium Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex, in the Belait District, in the Tutong District, in the District Tamburong and at the University of Brunei.

PERKEMI also assigned additional Instructor for Brunei Darussalam who must preparing the State of Brunei Darussalam Shorinji Kempo Team to compete in Jakarta SeaGames next November.

Long Journey PERKEMI to Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia (March 13th - 24th, 2011).

Indonesian Shorinji Kempo Team totaling 22 people is led directly by the President of PB PERKEMI Kusumo AM Sensei and this journey called gShorinji Kempo Brotherhood Joint Exercise with SeaGames Participating Countriesh.

Beside techniques exercise with the PERKEMI team, PERKEMI also held a demonstration of Shorinji Kempo techniques, meeting with local State Olympic Committee as well as bring in some Instructors for those countries.















In Hochi Minh City, Vietnam (arrived in March 13th), PB PERKEMI met with Mr. Mai Ba Hung and the staffs of the local Olympic Committee to discuss further development of Shorinji Kempo and placement of 2 Indonesian Instructors in Hochi Minh City. They are Mr. Arief Chandra (IV-Dan) and Mr. Bernard Laisina (IV-Dan). The Joint Exercise held in several sport halls in Hochi Minh City until March 16th, 2011.

Next the team moved to the Capital City of Laos Peoplefs Democratic Republic, Vientiane (March 17th) and welcomed by the Vice President of National Sport Committee of Lao PDR, Dr. Ir. Sinava Souphanouvong, and Dr Soulasith Oupravanh (Director General International Relations Dept) and some other staffs of the Lao National Olympic Committee. In Laos PERKEMI also assigned 2 Instructors to assist Laos in preparation for SeaGames team. They are Mr.Robby Talarima (V-Dan) and Mr. Robbie Johanes (IV-Dan).

The practice was held in a Budo Hall for 2 days and the team departed on March 19th, to Myanmar.

Arrived in Yangoon, Myanmar March 19th, the PERKEMI President Mr Kusumo AM Sensei was warmly welcomed by Myanmar Olympic Committee Officials and directly held a meeting with Mr U Thaung Htike (Secretary General of Sport and Physical Education Department), Ministry of Sport and other responsible officials from Myanmar Olympic Committee, SPED and National Sport Federation at the Ruby Room, National Indoor Stadium.

Indonesian Ambassador also welcomed and entertained the Indonesian Shorinji Kempo Team at his residence.

The demonstration of Shorinji Kempo techniques was held in Yangoon Indoor Stadium and the practice conducted for 3 days at the same place.

PERKEMI assigned Mr. Andreas Sohliem (IV-Dan) and Mr. Yusuf Effendi (IV-Dan) to become Myanmar Instructors.

The last country visited is Cambodia. Arrived in Pnom Penh on March 21st, the PERKEMI Officials held a meeting with Prof Meas Sarin (Cambodian Secretary of State of Ministry of Youth and Education), the practice was held in a Sport Hall in Pnom Penh for 3 days. The Instructors assigned for Cambodia are Mr. Nurdin (V-and) and Mr. Yanuarizal (IV-Dan).

On march 24th, PERKEMI Team left for Jakarta, Indonesia after 12 days successful long journey.
