Italia Shorinji Kempo Federation - New dojo opens at Messina

On the 22nd October 2003 Messina Branch (Branch Master Mr Riccardo Marchetti 5Dan) opened his refurbished Dojo at Sicily Messina. Messina Branch invited special guests WSKO Instructor Tamao Sanada Sensei (Tokyo university Branch Coach 7Dan), Masaki Maehara Sensei (BSKF Tolworth Branch Master 7Dan), Toshio Tajika Sensei (Tokyo Ohkubo dohin FukuDohincho 5Dan), Masaki Fujimori Sensei (Tokyo Hikarigaoka sports shonendan Assistant Branch Master 5Dan). Other local Italian Federation branch masters also attended

The opening ceremony started with an introduction of all the guests and then a Hohno Enbu performed by Marco Marchetti 2Dan, Massimiliano Fazio (Most Excellence Award winner in the 1st & 2nd Dan Embu) 2Dan. Then Sanada Sensei made a celebratory speech the text of which follows, and presented a commemorative gift to Marchetti Sensei.



"Good evening, it is a pleasure to meet you all on this occasion. I am Tamao Sanada, Tokyo University Shorinji Kempo club Coach and I have come from Tokyo Japan specially for this occasion.
Marchetti Sensei and I have a special friendship for many years, I believe he is will known and a man we can trust. I met him 9 years ago on the ship for Tadotsu, and since then we have remained in touch

and I have received further news of Shorinji Kempo in Italy from Maehara Sensei.
I look forward to seeing the further spreading of Shorinji Kempo technique and philosophy from this dojo, other branch masters nearby please support them in their work here. Finally I would like to thank all the kenshi and visitors for making the journey here today. I look forward to meeting you again. Goodbye."
