February 27 - March 2, 2007
Spring Training Camp at Headquarters, Week A

Week A of the Shorinji Kempo Headquarters Spring Training Camp was held for 4 days from February 27 to March 2, 2007, attended by 541 Kenshi from 50 university branches in Japan, and one from Ukraine. Nine instructors taught the participants in the camp.

Each camp week consists of 4 days. During the camp, chinkon-gyo starts at 8:45am, followed by kihon, techniques in groups divided by the ranks, philosophy lectures. All the students join samu in each dojo at the end of the day.

On the first day of the camp, there was a session to study how to teach techniques. Captains of each participating university branch gathered and studied together how to help others learn techniques. After the class, the captains went to each dojo to actually teach the freshmen's groups to see if their methods work with them.

Mr. Yuriy Meteshkin, Branch Master of the Ukraine's Odessa Branch, was attending the Camp Week A, and will be back in the Week B. He opened the first branch in Ukraine in 1991 and has been teaching since then.
