Hombu Summer Training Camp Week C
Week C of the Shorinji Kempo Headquarters Summer Training Camp was held for 4 days from September 4th to 7th, attended by around 200 Japanese university students, one from Tanzania, one from Australia, and 9 from Malaysia.
During this camp week, participants were very fortunate to have a chance to see the head of 3 organizations of the Shorinji Kempo Group in the same week, Mr. Tsunehiro Arai, WSKO Board Chairperson and President of the Shorinji Kempo Federation, Mr. Yoshitaka Suzuki, Representative of Kongo Zen Sohonzan Shorinji, and Mr. Hiromichi Yamasaki, Principal of Zenrin Gakuen, each talked about what "gyo" is and the proper mindset of kenshi.
Mr. Michael Robinson Titi from Tanzania's East Coast Mzizima Branch and Mr. Robert Gassin from Australia's Melbourne Branch continued their participation in the camp since the Week B, joined by the new members from Malaysia.
Mr. Kyohei Hosoe is the branch master of the Kuala Lumpur Branch of Malaysia. He is a Japanese working and living in Kuala Lumpur. He has brought 8 members of his branch including his son Yuya. The branch has both local people and Japanese people staying there. The branch has both Japanese members who have rich practice experiences in Japan and Malaysian members who learn from them. They all enjoyed the event and meeting the members of the Shorinji Kempo family in Japan and from other continents.
