Shorinji Kempo 60th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony & Reception
Shorinji Kempo 60th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony & Reception was held at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, a hotel near Tokyo Tower, on November 3rd, 2007, attended by 780 guests.
In the Convention Hall of the hotel, the ceremony opened at 15:30. All the attendants watched the film about the past 60 years of Shorinji Kempo. Then the certificates of appreciation were presented by Shorinji Kempo Group Chairperson Yuuki So to those who have made tremendous contributions to the Shorinji Kempo group.
The attendants moved to the ballroom on the same floor for the reception. After an opening song sung a cappella, Ms. Yuuki So welcomed the guests and expressed her appreciation for their gathering and supports in the last 60 years. The reception was attended by the instructors of doin/branches, as well as some Japanese Diet members and strong contributors.
As the federation president who will host the next World Taikai, Mr. Timbul Thomas Lubis, President of the Indonesian Federation, gave an address and invited the participants to the Taikai in Bali. Fifteen members of the Indonesian Federation presented their Kecak Dance, followed by Angklung music conducted by the Indonesian conductors and played by the guests. The Indonesian Federation delegates had brought 400 bamboo instruments with them for donation to present the music at the reception. The guests enjoyed playing the simple instrument and being a part of the music.
