FY2007 Spring Training Camp at Headquarters, Week D

Week D of the Shorinji Kempo Headquarters Spring Training Camp was held for 4 days from March 17 to 20, 2008, attended by 285 Kenshi from 43 university branches in Japan, three from Finland, one from Germany.

Mr. Seppo Ruusukivi, Hameenlinna Branch Master, brought two of his branch members, Mr. Teemu Kilpelainen and Mr. Teppo Lindroos. The Hameenlinna Branch is the 5th branch in Finland established in 2002. The Finnish Federation members keep good relationship with each other. They say they learn the techniques and how to proceed events during the camp and share them with the other members in a coming federation gathering.

Mr. Joerg Rackwitz, Humboldt-Universitaet Berlin Branch of Germany, came to hombu to attend two camp weeks. The branch was established in 2004 under the German Federation. Despite the distance from other German branches, the branch is growing steadily with about 30 members and Joerg enjoys the friendship he exchanges through Shorinji Kempo with fellow kenshi in different countries. He took the 3rd Dan test during the camp and was presented the Chukenshi 3rd Dan certificate on the stage of Hondo at the closing of the event.
