March 25-28, 2008
FY2007 Spring Training Camp at Headquarters, Week E

Week E of the Shorinji Kempo Headquarters Spring Training Camp was held for 4 days from March 25 to 28, 2008, attended by 233 Kenshi from 29 university branches in Japan, three from Finland, one from Germany, 15 from U.K.

Mr. Seppo Ruusukivi, Mr. Teemu Kilpelainen and Mr. Teppo Lindroos of Hameenlinna Branch of Finland and Mr. Joerg Rackwitz, Humboldt-Universitaet Berlin Branch of Germany stayed for their second camp week.

The participants from the British Federation were Mr. Adrian Simpson, Mr. Cailey Barker, and Chris Dodds of the City University Branch, Ms. Helen McMahon of the UCL Branch, Mr. Sean Dixie and Ms. Arianna Gutierrez of the Imperial College Branch, Mr. Adrian Foster-Starr , Mr. Robert Miller, Mr. Juan Battaner-Moro and Mr. Luke Andruszewski of the Southampton University Branch, Mr. Paul Barnes of the Peterborough Branch, Mr. Jeremy Peakin, Mr. David Dunn, Mr. Sami Elkhalifa, and Mr. Jorge Ortega of the Mayfair Branch.

Among the non-Japanese participants, eight people took the 4th and 5th Dan grading tests. Most of them are currently branch masters with long "ken-reki (Shorinji Kempo training history)" and leading their respective national federations. Their high standard of the techniques, understanding of the philosophy, and good manners amazed the examiners and instructors. Having actual instructors of the WSKO branches at Hombu was also a good chance for the WSKO executives to discuss with them face to face.

On the last day of the camp, the eight exam applicants received their certificates on the stage of Hondo from Mr. Tsunehiro Arai, WSKO Board Chairperson and President of Japan's Shorinji Kempo Federation.
