2003 Shorinji Kempo Summer Training Camp at Headquarters, Week A
Week A of the 2003 Shorinji Kempo Federation Summer Training Camps at the Headquarters was held from August 19th to 22nd.
It was attended by 458 Kenshi from 32 branches in Japan, as well as 2 Kenshi from Italy, 3 from Holland, and 1 from the U.S.A. There were several Kenshi from outside Japan who visited headquarters for the first time among the participants. They were astonished by the size of our facilities.
During the week, the participants gathered in Hondo at 8:45 every morning to practice Chinkon-gyo. Then they were divided into groups according to rank to practice the techniques of the day.
On August 22, the last day of Week A, Rafael Monnich and Nino Ruijfrok from Holland were awarded Chukenshi 3rd Dan certificates at the closing ceremony. They had taken their examinations the day before the camp started.
