China's State-level Friendship Award Given to Shorinji Kempo Group Chairperson
The People's Republic of China awards a state-level "Friendship Award" to foreign experts for their contributions to China's social development and economic progress, science and technology, education, and culture. For the year 2003, this award was given to Yuuki So, Chairperson of the Shorinji Kempo Group, in Beijing on September 30th, 2003, for long-term contributions to China's economic construction and cultural education, including the renovation of the Song Shan Shaolin Temple, and the construction of the Shaolin Hope Primary School, and the creation of friendly relations between Japan and China.
