Shorinji Kempo Spring Training Camp at Headquarters, Week A



Week A of the Shorinji Kempo Headquarters Spring Training Camps was held for 4 days from February 29th to March 3rd, 2012, attended by 462 students from 48 Japanese universities, 4 from Spain, and one from Australia.


























The program starts at 8:50 every morning, with chinkon-gyo, followed by techniques, lectures, lunch break, and then again techniques and lectures until evening. All the participants do samu, clearing, and the program of the day ends at around 18:00. Even after the intensive practice during the day, some students stay in dojo for extra practice to review what they have learned.

From Spain were attended Mr. Antonio Manuel Gomez Ruiz, Shokema Branch Master, Mr. Francisco Munoz Barranquero, Shokema Branch, Mr. Manuel Zapata, Shokema Branch, and Mr. Norberto Criado Fernandez, Axaquia Branch. Mr. Francisco Munoz Barranquero and Mr. Norberto Criado Fernandez took the 4th Dan grading test on the day before the training camp, and received their certificates from Mr. Tsunehiro Arai, WSKO Board Chairperson and also President of the Japanese Shorinji Kempo Federation.

From Australia, Mr. Chong Tran of the Gold Coast Branch was attending for the 3rd time, excluding another visit to Kagami Biraki event before.
