Spring Training Camp at Headquarters, Week A

Chinkon-gyo in Hondo

Week A of the Shorinji Kempo Headquarters Spring Training Camp was held for 4 days from March 2 to 5, 2005, attended by 620 Kenshi from 41 branches in Japan and one kenshi from the Vaugirard Branch of France. Fifteen instructors taught the participants in the camp.





This camp was the first one after the Shorinji Kempo unified mark and the logotype was announced. In the morning of the first day, the meaning and the purpose of the establishment of the newly unified mark was presented with a short film, and then Mr. Tsunehiro Arai, President of the Shorinji Kempo Federation, talked about what is required for the future development of the Shorinji Kempo Group and asked each participant for their cooperation.

Lunch break

The spring training camp starts with the Week A on March 2, and will continue to the Week D which will finish on April 2. It was chilly in the Week A with the temperature 5 degree in the morning. The water in the buckets for wetting the cloth was still cold when all the participants did samu in the evening after the program of each day.
