2002 Oceania Regional Study Session

Technical Instruction Scene. The students approach in grappling with the material was excellent. |
From October 26 to 28 (Saturday to Monday), the 2002 Oceania Regional Study Session was hosted in Auckland, New Zealand. The two instructors sent were WSKO Director Takehisa Urata (Secretary-General, Seihanshi 8th Dan), and WSKO Instructor Shin'ichi Suzuki (Seihanshi 7th Dan).
Since New Zealand is located in the Southern hemisphere, the study session was conducted amidst the outset of the summer season.

Outdoor Lecture. When a squall came, the lecture moved inside. |
The session's span was blessed by the weather and one of the lectures was even given outside, basked in the warm rays of the sun.
Participants came from New Zealand and Australia, with 48 members coming from 6 branches. Kihon, hokei practice, and embu practice were the focus, and on the last day they invited guests to an embu performance.

With every kamae, they were a study in seriousness. |
The students listened to their instructors with rapt attention, especially when they touched on their memories of Kaiso.
On the last day, embu demonstrations were held in the hall,
and virtually all of the kenshi participating in the study session unveiled their embu before the spectators.
