To Webmasters of Shorinji Kempo Related Websites

To All Who Are Planning to Create a Website of WSKO National Federations or Branches

On April 1, 2005, Shorinji Kempo Group established the unified mark and logo. In spite of the fact that Shorinji Kempo is a single unity worldwide , we had several different marks representing Shorinji Kempo. In order to promote the new mark as soon as possible to let Shorinji Kempo one unity worldwide in name and reality, we need your understanding and cooperation.

1. When you create a website, please use the unified mark and logo.
Details of using the unified mark and logo, and how to make application are provided on the website of the SHORINJI KEMPO UNITY.

2. Unified mark and logo are registered trademarks.
When you plan to make a website, please make sure that the federation president or the branch master submits the application form to use the trademarks to the WSKO Secretariat. Unified mark and logo may be used only by national federations and branches. Please note that personal websites of individual kenshi may not use the unified mark and logo.

3. Contents of websites
Enjoy freedom of introducing your federation or branch activities; practice of techniques, friendship events, social contribution events, etc., with reports and pictures. However, please do not include anything that may harm the image of Shorinji Kempo, or statements that may lead misunderstanding or confusion about our philosophy, techniques, and history. Please refer to the "Shorinji Kempo Unified Mark & Logo Usage Manual" issued and sent to each federation and branch in November 2005 from the WSKO Secretariat. That booklet will give you clearer idea.

4. Statements
(1) Please refer to the Shorinji Kempo Unified Mark & Logo Usage Manual for how to introduce Shorinji Kempo.
(2) Shorinji Kempo was established in Japan. Please avoid any expression that may lead the readers misunderstand that Shorinji Kempo started in China.
(3) Please avoid any expression, images, or illustrations that may lead the readers confuse Shorinji Kempo with other fighting and martial arts.
(4) Please provide correct information that Shorinji Kempo consists of 3 essential elements; "philosophy", "techniques" and "education system". Please do not give the readers negative images such as violence, pain, darkness, anxiety.
(5) World Shorinji Kempo Organization promotes peaceful friendship among the member countries aournd the world without regard to race, religion, or political preference. Please avoid statements that cannot be accepted by people of certain races, religions or political preferences. Please refer to the Unified Mark and Logo Usage Manual for details.

5. Images
(1) WSKO's national federations and branches may make their own website and use their pictures to show their activities. However, Pictures as well as texts from the publications issued by the World Shorinji Kempo Organization, Shorinji Kempo Federation, Kongo Zen Sohozan Shorinji, and Zenrin Gakuen, may not be used without permission.
(2) When you use any pictures in which people wearing dogi or hoi, please make sure that they are also wearing the unified mark and logo on their chest.
(3) You can use the pictures with previous marks on your webpage to present the federation/branch activities in the past. However, please make sure that you also state the date when such pictures were taken.
(4) Please do not copy and use the pictures form the official websites of the Shorinji Kempo Group including WSKO without permission. If you want to use the pictures on a report from a WSKO branch, you can ask the contributor for permission.
