As part of the commemoration of Shorinji Kempo’s 70^th anniversary, the 2017 Shorinji Kempo World Taikai in California, USA was held on July 30, 2017 at the San Mateo County Event Center in San Mateo, California, USA.

Representatives from 22 countries proudly held their nation’s flag, and kenshi from 16 countries performed embu in the Competition, Exhibition, and, Theme Exhibition divisions.
